Worm Update

Many of you have asked about worm availability. Since we are a small urban farm, quantity is always limited. Soon we should have a few pounds available in mid-late October.

We are in the process of expanding and trying some new ideas. New to us that is ;)

the goal is to expand in an urban setting by healing the land, not make a bigger footprint, and with that takes time.

So hopefully we will have more worms and a larger inventory of castings to sell in the late spring time. More to come soon!



Workshops for summer 2010

Hard to believe summer is almost here! We have updated our workshop list for this summer. If you would like to set up a community composting workshop let us know, we can come and share about worm composting and traditional composting.

another lettuce recall

This should be another little reminder, that it is worth it to start with a small vegetable garden in your backyard. However so small or large. It's only getting worse until they realize we need change!

Why would bricks go in the landfill?

Please tell me why?
I found this article fromNJ about two companies fighting because they have a ton of bricks to throwaway and the landfill won't take them. Even today the money makers can't think striaght. Even the writer says to give them to PA landfill. not an answer!
It seems like common sense to me, donate them! plenty of local community gardens (raised gardens and pathways!) and lower income homes could use the benefits of brick on their home!
