One Heart One World 2011

The winner of the OHOW giveaway is Ruby in the Garden!! Congrats and thanks to all who played! This has been fun!

The 2011 One World One Heart Blog giveaway has started!
a little intro, We are a creative family who loves dirt! We started worm composting over 5 years ago, and raising worms over 4 years ago on our small urban farm. Now we spend a lot of time volunteering workshops at local schools and for the Metro parks to spread the word about composting and happy worms = happy soil!

now for the give away!

Logo2011small

Last year it went over so well, so this year we will offer it again!
Our prize is worm castings!
1lb. bag of Worm Castings,
yes a bag of worm poop for free!

Worm castings are excellent fertilizer for your soil and seed starters! Plus it is organic and the only kind of fertilizer you can use straight on your seedlings without bringing them! You can read more about them in our past blog posts.
To win, all you have to do is leave a comment below and we will announce the winner on February 17th!!

Side note: to all our overseas visitors, if you win I will pick an alternative gift since worm castings don't travel well by mail!!

We moved recently from Texas to Iowa, and haven't started composting again because of the cold winters. We've been thinking about worm composting, maybe this is what we need to get started ;-) I've used worm castings on my carden before with great results.
Thanks for stopping by my blog!

I just spent about a half hour reading some of your archived posts. We got a plastic worm bin from my son's class, the principal decided they couldn't have it in the class room so the teacher had to give it away. My son begged me to take it, so we did. I really know nothing about it, and online sites vary with information. Some of your posts were definitely informative for me.

Oh yes, and you can enter me in your giveaway please! :)

My big flower bed has been neglected since I got hurt on the job and dealt with many complications since (2005) but Hubby vowed to help me bring it back to life this coming spring. Perhaps the worm poop will do the trick. he gardens on a larger scale for veggies, and we compost but I know nothing about worm composting, perhaps it is something we could do also. Any chance of sending me information on how to do it, whether or not I am your winner? I am house bound and perhaps it is something to help keep me busy.

Anyway please count me in, and PLEASE come visit #209
